Club Championship

The aim of the Club Championship is to generate friendly competition within the club and help our members achieve their running and fitness targets.  Every year, the Club Committee decide on the qualifying races, they are usually drawn from a combination of local races (including the Harrogate & District Summer Race League) but will also include races outside our immediate area that are identified as popular events for our club – the  Great North Run is a typical example.

The results table is updated on a regular basis by our Evening League/Club Championship co-ordinator (John Young) and will be viewable on the specific Championship year page.   The trophies for the Club Championship are usually presented at the annual club dinner in December.

Rules:  You have to do three Evening Leagues races, three 10Ks, two 10-milers and one half-marathon from the list of races for any given year. If you choose to do more, then your best results will count.

Scoring:  The last Harrier to finish will get one point, the first Harrier to finish will get the number of points of Harriers competing. e.g. 25 members run Melmerby 10k, then the first to finish will get 25 points, the last 1 point.
