2007 Road Race Club Championships

September 17 - Congratulations to Paul Render, Harrogate Harriers 2007 Road Race Champion! Paul was followed closely by Stuart Johnstone and Jon Blane.
Tony Essex, who finished 4th overall, retains his title as the Male Vet Champion. Retaining her title as Female Vet Champion is Sue Simpson, who finished 7th overall.
A total of 77 runners ran in at least one of the championship races, up from 62 the previous year. Well done to everyone who participated!

Rules
and Points Scoring
We
are running a Club Championship based upon performances across the
Harrogate Summer Road
Race League and the Black
Sheep Race Series.
Scoring
will be points scored based upon race positions. The number of prizes
awarded will be based upon the level of interest in the competition.
For
each person, scoring will be as follows:
- Four
best point scores from the six Harrogate Summer League races will
count, plus
- Three
best from the six Black Sheep Series 10K races, plus
- One
best of the two longer Black Sheep races (Ripon 10 miler and Burn
Valley Half Marathon)
For
each race, if there are up to 30 Harriers finishing, then the 1st
Harrier (irrespective of age and gender) will get 30 points, the
second Harrier 29, and so on.
If
there are more than 30 Harriers finishing, the final Harrier to
finish will get 1 point, the penultimate 2 points and so on.
To
score points, the person must be registered as a Harrogate Harrier
in the race results (otherwise it's pretty impossible to collate
the results!)
