Harrogate Town Centre10K – Race Day Instructions

Date:  Sunday 21st July 2013

Time: 10.30am.

Location:  Crescent Gardens, Harrogate HG1 2SG.

UKA Licence:  2013-105861.

Entry on The Day:  Entries on the day will be accepted, you will find the race secretary situated at a desk close to the start in Crescent Gardens, however please leave yourself plenty of time if doing so.

Car Parking:  There is free on-street parking throughout Harrogate on Sundays, alternately you may use any of the town’s numerous Pay and Display car parks.

Toilets:  Public toilets are situated in Crescent Gardens and also in the adjacent Valley Gardens near the public tennis courts (a 3-minute jog).

Numbers:  Please ensure your number is pinned to the front of your vest/running shirt and that you have filled in the medical information on the back.  Do not fold or mutilate your number in any way.

Route:  A two-lap course on the NW side of town, the first lap is 4.8KM and the second 5.2KM (please see route map below).  The race starts and finishes in Crescent Gardens.

Safety:  The race will be well-marshalled and signposted.  The course is mainly open to traffic and at certain points you will be directed to run against the traffic.  At all other times (unless directed by a marshall) please keep to the left-hand side of the road.  Harrogate Harriers are obliged to follow the direction of  UKA and the local police in enforcing a policy that NO iPod or similar MP3 players will be allowed during the race, to include any device that might otherwise obstruct your hearing and jeopardise your safety.

Medical Aid:  The Red Cross and first aiders will be in attendance.

Race Finish:  The race will finish in Crescent Gardens after a fast descent along Cornwall Road.  After crossing the finish line, runners should move quickly into the finish funnel to ensure their time is correctly recorded.  Please maintain your finishing order to the end of the funnel, where your number will be recorded.

Prize Giving:  This will take place at approximately 12.30pm at the Crescent Garden’s bandstand.
