Haverah Trail Race 2017

race_graphicThe Harrogate Haverah Trail Race comprises approximately 10 miles of trails and designated pathways, wonderfully situated in the scenic Yorkshire setting of Haverah Park and within easy reach of the famous spa town of Harrogate. The course follows a circular route from Beckwithshaw that takes you down Pot Bank and into Haverah Park, then around Beaver’s Dyke and John O’Gaunts reservoirs, including the castle remains.  It will be flagged and well-marshalled, navigation skills (although useful) are not necessary. There will be a water stop at the Sun Inn in Norwood and food will be provided at the race finish free of charge to all competitors. Entry on The Day:  Entries on the day will be accepted (subject to the race entry limit being reached) with a £2.00 surcharge on top of the regular unaffilated entry fee, so £16.00.   You will find the race secretary situated at a desk close to the start at Beckwithshaw Cricket Club, however please leave yourself plenty of time if doing so.  Note that the desk will open at 0800 and close at 0945.

On-line Entries:  Please collect your number from the Race Secretary at the Cricket Club (as above).

Car Parking:  Limited car parking is available at the cricket club and also at the nearby village hall.  Please park considerately

Toilets:  Toilets are available at the cricket club

Numbers:  Please ensure your number is pinned to the front of your vest/running shirt and that you have filled in the medical information on the back.  Do not fold or mutilate your number in any way.

Route:  Approximately a 10-mile circuit that follows trails and footpaths from Beckwithshaw to Norwood taking in Haverah Park, the Beaver Dyke reservoirs and John O’Gaunts castle.

Safety:  The race will be flagged and well-marshalled.  Harrogate Harriers are obliged to follow the direction of UKA and enforce a policy that NO iPod or similar MP3 players will be allowed during the race, to include any device that might otherwise obstruct your hearing and jeopardise your safety. Any runner contravening this ruling will be disqualifed.

Medical Aid:  The Red Cross and first aiders will be in attendance.

Prize Giving:  This will take place at approximately 1230 at the Cricket Club
