Once more the Weather Gods smiled benevolently on the Harrogate 10K and provided clear, bright weather for the race – perfect conditions in fact!  Some fine racing ensued and there was a proper tussle at the front between GB International Marc Scott (Richmond & Zetland), Debele Tesfaye (Leeds A.C) and Ryan Holroyd (Staffs Moorlands A.C.).  They swapped places several times, but Marc was always pushing the pace and stepped up a gear in the closing stages to pull away and win the race in an excellent 30.55, just 10 seconds outside the course record. Debele chased him all the way home and finished second in a very creditable 31.01, while Ryan took third in 31.55.

The ladies race was equally well contested, local girls taking all the honours: Sharon Barlow (Ripon Runners) was first in 36.40 with Caroline Lambert (Wetherby) chasing hard for second place in 36.57. Tori Green completed a good day for Ripon Runners by securing third place in 37.48.

Team prizes were won by Spenborough (men) and Ripon (ladies)

So an excellent day and once more a good amount raised for our supported charity, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.  Hope to see you again next year!
