31, 2006 - Jolly Holly Jog 10K, Ripon - This popular race fills
up quickly, but sixteen Harriers managed to gain an entry and make
the journey to Ripon. The rain held off and the morning was generally
fine for running, though I am told it was rather muddy in parts.
Coming on the heels of his top ten finish in the recent Chevin Chase,
Matthew Thackwray concluded a fine year by finishing in sixth place
overall in a time of 35:48. Allison Griffiths was the first female
finisher for the club in a time of 53:09. Happy New Year!

26 - Chevin Chase -
Fifteen Harriers took part in this Boxing Day race in Guiseley. Chris
Miller led the way home with an excellent fourth place finish in a
time of 40:17. Matthew Thackwray also made the top ten in a time of

23rd Calderdale Way Relay - The
Harrier's team consisting of Chris Miller, Rickie Stockburn, Ben Grant,
Simon Claridge, Phil Mason, Simon Baker, Paul Render, Matthew Thackwray,
Brian Miller, Ashley Brook, Dave Askew, and Tim Broomfield finished
in an excellent 18th place out of 100 teams. Full results

10 - Stockport 10 Mile Road race - Well
done to Andy and Verity Moss for finishing in 1:18:25 and 1:28:31,
respectively. Andy finished in 298th place and Verity in 491st out
of 610 finishers.

05 - Guy Fawkes 10-Miler - The weather was
drier than last year, with cool and windy conditions prevailing. 871
people finished the race of which 28 were Harriers - first home for
the club was Paul Render in 1.05.45. Results of club members are as

Harrogate 'A' team finished 84th out of 130 teams; the 'B' team finished
104th in the English National Cross Country Relays at Mansfield.

30 - Dublin Marathon - Tom Denwood ran an evenly paced race
and finished in a fine 3.16.16, good for 492nd place out of 8142 finishers.

15 - Richmond Castle Hilly 10K - Martin Shaw led the
Harriers in this hilly race finishing in 41:02 (43rd place). Tim Broomfield
followed in 41:46 (53rd place) and Peter Abbott (MV70)
ran 58:57 to finish in 353rd place out of 428 runners. Results link

15 - Amsterdam Marathon - Simon Baker finished in 3.25.17,
running negative splits of 1.43.04/1.42.13, good for 1398th place
out of 5858 finishers. Well done, Simon!
October 15 - Bridlington Half Marathon
Congratulations
to Sue Simpson who ran a PB 1:37:29 to take 4th place in the W45 category.
Steve Cooper finished in 1:31:22, good for 131st place out of 653
runners.
