Track Awareness Run Drop-Off Points
The start of the Track Awareness Run around the Harrogate Ringway will be from The World’s End pub on Waterside, Knaresborough at 0930. The first “drop-off” point will be at Moorlands Nursery on Forest Moor Road, this is a distance of 1.9 miles and the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of the fastest runners is 0945.
The next point (3) is at the bottom of Fulwith Mill Lane, a distance of 1.8 miles from the Traveller’s Rest. ETA of the fastest runners is 1015.
The next point (4) is at Pannal Church, this is 1.3 miles from the Fulwith Mill Lane stop. The fastest runners should be there by 1025.
It’s just 0.7 miles to the next point (5) at Brackenthwaite Lane, the faster runners ETA is going to be about 1030.
Daw Cross “Top” is the next point (6) where you can join in, that’s 1.4 miles and the speedy folks should be there by 1042. Make sure you have the right place if you’re joining here.
Cardale Business Park is the next point (7), that’s 1.4 miles. We’re reckoning about 1053 ETA for the faster runners.
The next point (8) on the Ringway is the junction of Kent and Cornwall Road, this is the end of the road that’s unmade. 1.8 miles distance, fast runners ETA about 1108.
Oakdale Golf Club is the next drop-off point (9), just 0.8 miles. ETA for the faster runners is 1115.
Head up Jennyfields Drive and turn down to Saltergate School for the next point (10) where you can join in. It’s about 0.9 miles from the Golf Club, faster runners will be there around 1123.
The final point (11) where you can jump on the Track Awareness Run is at the junction of Crab Lane and Old Barber, it’s about 1.4 miles from Saltergate School to here. We think the faster runners should be here by 1135, It’s now a straight run to the finish.
It’s 4.6 miles to the finish, this first map shows the route as far as Scotton Mill, though of course that’s on the opposite side of the Nidd to where you should be!
The final map shows the part of the Ringway from Bilton Banks through to Waterside and the finish, we estimate that the first runners will be here between 1210 – 1215. Well done!
