Training
Tuesdays at 7:00 pm | Thursdays at 6:30 pm
Please
join us on a run and try out the Club's training sessions. Our main
training session is held on Tuesday night from 7.00pm to 8.00pm.
We also meet on Thursday at 6.30pm. We usually meet at the Harrogate
Squash and Sports Club, just off of Plantation Road in Harrogate unless there
is a running or social event elsewhere.
Training
sessions are split into ability groups. On Tuesdays there are normally
fast, medium and slower groups. On Thursdays there are normally
just the medium and slower groups. People are encouraged to move
between each group and fit in wherever they they feel most comfortable.
The
fast group will typically train at between 6:00 and 7:30 minute
mile pace. The training session normally involves efforts, the type
of effort decided on the night. It may be some sort of fartlek session,
a hill session, intervals etc.
The
medium group will typically do some type of interval training during
the autumn and winter months under the guidance of our coach, Sheila
Boyde.
The
social group will typically train at between 8:30 and 9:30 minute
mile pace. The pace will be dictated by the slowest members of the
group. The route and distance is generally decided on the night,
but typically between 5 and 7 miles.
The
Young Athletes training group meets
separately with the training sessions organised and co-ordinated
by their coach, Jeff Leigh (01423-568335).
