Harrogate Harriers Club Championships
The aim of our Club Championships (Road and Off-Road) is to generate friendly competition within the club and help our members achieve their running and fitness targets. Every year, the Club Committee decide on the qualifying races, they are usually drawn from a combination of local races (including the Harrogate & District Summer Race League) but will also include races outside our immediate area that are identified as popular events for our club – the Great North Run is a typical example. The Off-Road events are chosen for their accessibility and some are specifically beginner-friendly, the intention being for all members of the club to be involved if they wish.
The results tables are updated on a regular basis by our Championship co-ordinators (Geoff Hirst and Helen Price) and will be viewable on the specific Championship year pages.
The trophies for the Club Championships are usually presented at the annual club dinner in December, there may also be additional prizes awarded, but this is dependent on the club securing appropriate sponsorship. The rules can differ slightly from year to year, dependent on whether or not Harrogate Harriers hosts an Evening League event and also if the Club Committee deems it necessary and in the best interests of friendly competition.
