Our junior members carry on the club tradition of competing in Track & Field competitions. Click here to view 2019 club records
We provide them with opportunity to represent Harriers and compete in a range of competitive local, regional and national events including both team competitions and individual championships. There are also locally-hosted track meetings through the summer and details will be posted of those when available. (Useful links are: West Yorkshire Athletics League and the York Summer League)
Local Open Field and Track Meetings: March and April 2020
All athletes will have an account on the Power of 10 website and individual results from every official competition will be uploaded. It is worth checking out your PBs and what the competition is up to! There is also the Amateur Athletics Association (AAA) standards to aspire to. A lot of our junior members also compete for their schools in the English Schools Athletics Association (ESAA) track and field individual and cup competitions. Results are available on the ESAA website shortly after competitions.
UK Youth Development League (YDL) - ALL MEETS CANCELLED IN 2020 DUE TO COVID-19
As an affiliated club, we compete in the UK Youth Development League (YDL) athletics league promoted by England Athletics. The athletes enjoy mixing with and competing at different track venues against athletes from across the North East of England. We compete at u13 (school years 6&7) and u15 (school years 8&9). The format comprises a full day of athletics events for different age groups with two boys and two girls per team per age group event. Dates for 2020 TBC- UK Youth Development League (Lower) (U13-15) North Premier East:
Meet 1: Saturday 16th May 2020. South Leeds Stadium, LS11 5DJ
Meet 2: Saturday 6th June 2020. Becketts Park Leeds, LS6 3QQ
Meet 3: Saturday 18th July 2020. University of York Sports Centre, YO10 5NA
Meet 4: Saturday 8th August 2020. FINAL - location TBC on promotion or relegation results.
Teams will be chosen through the season by the club coaches and team manager Mark Bryant. Team managers will contact athlete's parents/carers directly about team selection.
North-East Youth Development League (NEYDL)
We also enjoy competing in the North-East YDL League that is arranged to support local clubs in the north-east region. This provides good opportunity to allow more children to participate and experience the fun of team competitions. We compete at u13 (school years 6&7), u15 (school years 8&9) and u17 (school years 10&11).

Here is the final league table from NEYDL 2019. Harrogate Harriers came second despite having to share athletes with different events for two of the Match days - great work everyone!
Here is the final YDL league table from 2019. Harrogate came top in their group and went through to the regional final where they came 5th out of 6 teams. Really good effort and team work from all our amazing athletes.
